If The Foundations Be Destroyed What Can The Righteous Do?

They can wring their hands in despair, or they an begin at once to rebuild those foundations!

Our's is a day and time when foundations have been destroyed, but there is hope for all, because God is now calling us to "arise and build" (Neh. 2:18).

"Other foundation can no man lay, than is laid, which is Christ Jesus" (I Cor. 3:11). This verse tells us that the foundation of the Christian church has NOT been destroyed, and can NEVER be destroyed, for that foundation is laid in the person, the work, the coming, and the kingdom of our Lord Himself!

The foundation, friends, is intact, but many are moved off of it, and are building on sinking sand. Jesus said it was our privilege, however, to keep his words, and build upon a sure foundation, the solid rock (Matt. 7:24-27).

Yes, these are days that try men's souls, yet there have never been days of greater security in the all-keeping power of the triumphant Christ! He is building His church on the rock--the messianic confession--and its consequent gift of the kingdom.

Contrary to appearances, friends, the foundation is not destroyed, but many are simply backslidden from truth, and need to repent and turn to God.

Is that your case? If it is, then the good news is that the Lord Himself is near! He is a God at hand, and not one that is afar off (Jer. 23:23).

Return to Him, and He will return to you--such is the word of faith we preach (Rom. 10:8).

The freedom and the feast! It is there for us all today because the foundation of God stands sure (I Tim. 2:19)!
